Happy Fathers Day - La Mirada Splash Water Park

Dad and Jessalyn at the local waterpark for Fathers day. Lots of Moms and Dads we’re here playing with their kids in the water. Floating in the Lazy River is one of our favorite things to do.

Jessalyn looking at the “treasure”, this waterpark has a pirate theme with all sots of fun things to do that are pirate related.

One of the water attractions at the water park unfortunatly the water in this part of the park is VERY cold. Once it heats up I think we’ll be playing here quite a bit.

Another water attraction that has levers to control the flow of water, turn them all off and the top one shoots out pretty far. Beyond that is the 3 slides that are quite popular with the water park visitors.

The view from a far. Beyond the plants in the foreground is the Lazy River.

The kiddy park play area, two park style slides and one enclosed slide. Many fun water toys to squirt each other with. Every thirty seconds the big head above topples over and dumps water below. If the head wasn’t dumping water I’d imagine that Jessalyn would love this thing more than she does.

Four hours later at the waterpark and we’re ready to leave.

Fourth of July 2006

Last night we did our annual park in the parking lot of Ralphs and watch the fireworks show at La Habra High School for free. Kelly Billy and Summer joined Jen Jess and I for some BBQ and then the watching of the fireworks. There were a lot of other cheapskates that joined us in the parking lot to see the fireworks. From what a few websites have stated the admission is $5 and $2 for kids. But like everyone else we want instant gratification so we arrived about 1 hour early. Billy and I parked their car and sat in the parking spot next to us until Jen, Jess, Kelly & Summer arrived. By that time the parking lot was full so we saved some time by reserving a spot for them. After that we all sat down and watched the lame local shoot of illegal fireworks from their yards until the main event happened. Kelly brought an awesome Strawberry Shortcake for all of us to eat and a few minutes later the fireworks lit up the sky. Jessalyn wasn’t scared one bit and even mimicked me as I pointed out the fireworks to her. I made little BOOM noises for her when they exploded with color and she started to make little noises as well. It was way cute!
So where was Caitlin and Christian? Caitlin was with her grand parents watching a parade and watching fireworks. Chris was with his Dad watching fireworks too.
Since we saw the show for free (as we have for the last 3 years) I thought I should plug the show:

Mothers Day 2006
My family had a great time on Mothers Day this year. We spent the day with my mom’s side of the family at Irvine Regional Park. We did the same thing last year and had a blast so our kids were very excited to attend this year as well. I took more video than I did pictures, and I’ll have the video posted as well as on DVD for the attendees to see.
Below are the 8 pictures I took (sorry I didn’t take more) but we did get an awesome family shot (missing are my wife and our youngest Jessalyn, they were sleeping in the tent behind this picture):

New Years Day 2006
Jen, Jess and I are PAR-TAY animals I tell ya. Yesterday I dropped the kids off at Isaacs Parent’s house (the kids Grand Parents) then hung out at home as well as did some shopping. Later in the day we went to Hollywood Video and rented some movies (Melinda & Melinda, The Dukes of Hazzard (Uncut) & Sahara). We watched Melinda & Melinda1/2 way though then Jen and Jess went to sleep at 10. I stopped the movie and popped in The Dukes of Hazzard but fro some reason the XBox didnt like the movie *shrug* so I didnt get to watch it. Around 11 I watched the ball drop, or a recording there of on the Rockin New Years with the new robot named Seacrest. Blah blah what ever… I changed it and saw Regis and his wife singing some song very Karaoke style and I guess I fell asleep on the couch before the PST ball dropped. Bah, whatever again.. Zonked out at 12 Jen woke up to gunfire. From what I gathered from my mother in law there is a cop that lives down the street and he may have been the one shooting the gun into the air (I doubt it since what comes up must come down, but still who knows). I didnt wake up to it so It didnt bother me any. Around 4am Jen woke up came into the living room to find me crashed out. I was told to go to bed, I dont recall how exactly but I got a drink of water and then crashed out on the bed. This morning I woke up next to the lil love in my life shes such a wiggle worm and I heard Jen start the Durango and drive off. 1/2 hour later she came back and I work up again and snuck out of bed before Jess could realize I was gone. Jen was cooking her annual Creme Brule thingy that is yummers. We sat down and ate our brunch, just the 3 of us. Jen wanted to go to the store to buy a new salt container she broke, so I suggested we’d take a walk over there. We came back and took some pictures of Jess.

I tried out a new photoshop action that makes pictures look like old pull and peel Polaroids, so I gave it a shot on this pic.
